Fuel injector testing and cleaning Tuesday July 8th 2008

Jebs now offer a fuel injector testing and cleaning service. Fuel injection systems, like carburettors, need cleaning at regular intervals in order for them to work properly, allowing your engine to perform at maximum power and efficiency.

Fuel injectors are sometimes cleaned with an airline and cleaning fluid, but this really isn't enough to unblock the tiny spray nozzles in the injectors, which control precisely the amount of fuel delivered to the engine.

Jebs use a fuel injector tester to determine the efficiency and accuracy of fuel injectors. An ultrasonic cleaning bath is used to remove tiny particles of dirt not visible to the naked eye, and to remove deposits left on the inside of the injectors from dirty or old fuel.

The injectors are then tested again to ensure they function properly, and are then balanced as a set to ensure that each cylinder receives the correct amount of fuel.
