A short history
Life with motors began from the age of three when I helped my granddad change a tyre on his old Ford. Apparently, I looked at the pictures from the instruction manual and told him what needed to be done!
Aged eight, my father encouraged my interest by taking in neighbours petrol-run lawnmowers to be fixed from whatever ailment they were suffering.
Beginning my working life at a Citroen franchise, I tuned my knowledge of motors into the level of skill required by the TWR Group to develop and build Jaguar XJ220 engines. Later working on projects such as emission testing the Aston Martin DB7, turbo charging a Volvo/Arrows road vehicle, and further engine development projects which unfortunately cannot be disclosed, further honed my motor skills and gave me the chance to travel extensively.
Owning and restoring a 1968 V8 351ic Ford Mustang, my interest in American cars then took me on to work with Corvettes, and the only ZR1 Specialist in Europe. Again, travel was high on the agenda, it took the work as far a field as the USA and Hawaii.
So after a lifetime of bringing old machines "back from the dead", I´ve concluded that I should be putting my energy and ability instead into enhancing their performance.
This brings us to the present where I have now started Jebs Performance Engineering, after having worked for 15 years with companies and race teams such as Arrows, TWR and the KR Proton Moto GP Team.
JEBs has over 15 years of experience supplying engines to many different applications. Successes include the 2002 Formula 1 Sidecar World Championship title and more recently the 2005 Australian Championship.
